Clinical Supervision

Clinical Supervision for Aspiring Maternal & Perinatal Mental Health Clinicians

Perinatal work is tender, complex, and deeply relational.
It requires more than basic supervision—it requires attunement, ethical clarity, and space to process the emotional weight of the work. I provide clinical supervision for practicum students, interns, and pre-licensed clinicians who want to build competence and confidence in maternal and perinatal mental health.

This work includes:

  • supporting clients during pregnancy, postpartum, infertility, NICU experiences, and loss

  • navigating the emotional and ethical complexity of perinatal care

  • supporting new mothers during one of the most vulnerable and transformative seasons of life

WHO THIS SUPERVISION IS FOR

This supervision may be a good fit if you are:

  • A practicum student, intern level student, or pre-licensed clinician who wants to focus on working with perinatal or maternal populations

  • Someone who wants supervision that includes clinical depth, emotional processing, and reflective practice

  • Someone who understands that perinatal work is not “just another specialty”

  • Someone who values gentle rigor, cultural humility, and relational safety

  • Someone who is willing to come prepared with questions and is open to learning

This supervision is for clinicians who understand that this work hits differently—and want support that reflects that.

WHY PERINATAL/MATERNAL MENTAL HEALTH SUPERVISION IS DIFFERENT

Maternal mental health work requires specialized support

Working with perinatal clients often involves:

  • high emotional intensity and vulnerability

  • identity shifts and role transitions

  • grief, loss, and ambiguous outcomes

  • complex family systems and attachment dynamics

  • ethical decision-making in moments of heightened risk

Generic supervision often doesn’t leave room for the emotional residue this work can create.

In this supervision space, we attend to:

  • what’s happening clinically

  • what’s happening internally for you as the clinician

  • how your nervous system, values, and lived experience show up in the room

  • what's happening internally- mentally, emotionally, psychologically, and physiologically- for our clients, and how to help them navigate that

MY APPROACH TO SUPERVISION

Relational, reflective, and perinatal-informed

My supervision approach is grounded in:

  • evidence-based perinatal mental health frameworks

  • trauma-informed and attachment-focused care

  • reflective supervision principles

  • attention to countertransference, boundaries, and clinician sustainability

This is a collaborative space, not a hierarchical one.
You are supported, challenged thoughtfully, and respected as a developing professional.

I focus on helping you:

  • conceptualize perinatal cases with clarity and confidence

  • navigate ethical and emotional complexity

  • build a sustainable relationship with this work over time

  • understand the importance of regular self-care practices, and implement them

Sessions are tailored to your licensure stage and clinical focus.
